What can you buy with an Anthem OTC card? ›

Your OTC benefit can be used to shop for both brand-name and generic health and wellness products like vitamins, pain relievers, cold medicine, first aid supplies, and more.

Important Information. Please note that retailer websites like Walmart.com are not available for your online orders. However, using your Benefits Prepaid Card in person at Walmart or other approved retail stores is accepted.

The Anthem Benefits Prepaid Card

You can use the card to easily access the allowances that come with your plan. It can help cover dental, vision, and hearing services and other expenses like groceries, over-the-counter items, utility bills, and more.

Approved items include fruits & vegetables, meats, dairy & more.

You can also get everyday items like laundry detergent, soap and toothbrushes.

OTC items are not eligible for reimbursement if they are normally used for general health, are not used to treat a medical condition (e.g. toothpaste, mouthwash, lotion, shampoo) or are cosmetic in nature (e.g. teeth whitening products, wrinkle reducers). See additional examples in the OTC Chart.

Save on items you use every day, such as toothpaste, eye drops, aspirin, and more, when you shop at participating neighborhood stores and select online retailers, with free home-delivery options available.

You can use your card to buy things like: Food and fresh groceries, like meat, vegetables, and canned goods. Everyday items, like toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant and shaving cream. Household goods, like laundry detergent, paper towels and tissues.

Anthem Medicare Advantage members now have more choices when using their Grocery benefit allowance. Starting today, Medicare Advantage members can now shop in Dollar General for their Grocery benefits.

Can I withdraw money from my Anthem HSA account at an ATM? ›

Health Benefits Debit Card – Your HSA Bank Health Benefits Debit Card provides access to your HSA funds at point-of-sale with signature or PIN and at ATMs for withdrawals.

Employees can receive a debit card to pay for qualified medical expenses. Any funds left in the account each year are carried over to the following year and remain with the employee who owns them. Employees can invest their HSA funds once their HSA balance exceeds $1,000.
